New Media Interchange

Bringing the power of New Media to everyone

I just got a new computer! MacBook Pro. Now that I have a built in camera I want to start live streaming my show, New Media Tea Time from my condo. I just saw a show on Hello Ross.com where Ross streamed from his kitchen.

How difficult is this to do? I've already produced many video casts now.

I have started to use the FREE ProCaster App the ties into http://livestream.com. It has some neat features. including built-in support for showing your desktop and the live video at the same time and using multiple cameras.

It is very easy to stream these days. You can use the interface from the web page or download the app to get some more features. Premium packages open up even more services. Livestream also has the ability to do something similar to a TV switcher at a TV station. You can load up recorded segments and roll them in. Then you an automatically come back to the live camera. All of the services allow you to record for later embedding, although most require a premium account to convert the video to MP$ so you could podcast it.
