Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Dollhouse) created Dr. Horribles Sing-Along Blog to create jobs during the 2007-08 Writers Strike. Self-funded by Whedon and the shows other writers and actors, Dr. Horrible became a pop cultural phenomenon and is one of the first of its kind to be Guild-covered.
